The Unspoken Hero Society is a non-profit organization that provides support, advocacy,  and tools to those affected by chronic illnesses. With a staff which includes, patient advocates that provide various resources to support the unspoken hero

The Unspoken Hero Society uniquely embraces the mind, body, and spirit, by focusing on key human issues such as trauma and loss and unique issues that effect every specific chronically ill patient such as:

  • Uncertainty about the future.

  • Depression

  • Unpredictability of the disease.

  • Disability.

  • Financial difficulties.

  • Irritability and difficulty in relationships.

  • Anxiety, tension, sadness.

  • Loss of interest in things you once enjoyed.

  • Disturbed sleep.

  • Fatigue.

  • Body aches and pains, including headaches.

  • Cognitive issues.

Founder: Lathan Singleton

Lathan Singleton, Founder of The Unspoken Hero Society is a Sickle Cell warrior, community organizer, patient advocate and mentor. He envisioned building an organization that’s primary focus is protecting the mental health of people living with Sickle Cell Disease. He is heavily involved in the sickle cell community through his foundation, his work as an ambassador and a patient advocate for The Sickle Cell Medical Advocacy Group.
